Mr. Hurtado, a graduate of Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, VA, is an attorney licensed in Florida, and is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). Mr. Hurtado is frequently interviewed on local news broadcasts on Univision and Telemundo due to his experience in practicing immigration law. Mr. Hurtado has first-hand experience with the immigration process as he is an immigrant from Bolivia and became a U.S. Citizen in 1996. Mr. Hurtado served his community as an Assistant State Attorney for two years before entering private practice. His law firm offers a full service immigration practice ranging from investor visas to representation in immigration court. The result is a law firm focused on providing immigration legal services to individuals, their families, and their businesses.

INVESTOR VISAS

Mr. Hurtado has a passion to serve entrepreneurs and business leaders in their pursuit of the American Dream by providing the legal services needed to obtain their visas. He has been successful in the petition of E-2 Treaty Investor Visas as well as L-1 Intracompany Transferee Visas, where entrepreneurs and business leaders come to the U.S. and start new business ventures or expand existing businesses to create American jobs and positively impact local economies. Mr. Hurtado is also prepared to advise on EB-5 visas and Permanent Residency for foreign investors or for American businesses seeking investment capital through EB-5 Regional Centers.

EXTRAORDINARY ACHIEVEMENT & PROFESSIONAL VISAS

Mr. Hurtado has successfully prepared visa and residency petitions for Aliens of Extraordinary Ability (O Visas and EB-1). These clients are people who have obtained a high level of achievement in their area of expertise and they want to bring their talents and abilities to the United States. It has been his great privilege to provide immigration legal services to some of the best and brightest from around the world and assist in their migration to the United States. Mr. Hurtado is also prepared to advise on P visas for athletes, artists, and entertainers.

Mr. Hurtado has experience in the petitioning of H1-B visas and the preparation and submission of Labor Certifications and PERM petitions for those professionals who are seeking specialty occupations in the United States. These include professions that require a high level of education and/or experience such as college professors, or software engineers, amongst many other qualified occupations.

Mr. Hurtado also has successfully prepared religious visa petitions. These visas are for clients who seek to come to the United States temporarily to be employed to work as a minister or in a religious vocation or occupation. Mr. Hurtado has also assisted in obtaining Legal Permanent Residency for religious workers under the EB-4 category.

U.S. CONSULAR PRACTICE

Mr. Hurtado is proud to have clients from all over the world. He uses technology such as Skype, Facetime, and e-mail to communicate with his clients in foreign countries who are seeking to immigrate legally to the United States. Mr. Hurtado has experience in dealing with U.S. consulates in many different nations and continents and understands how to work with the particular requirements that different U.S. consular posts may have.

WAIVER PRACTICE

Mr. Hurtado prepares and obtains waivers for clients that are in need of a waiver due to inadmissibility issues (this includes the preparation of stateside provisional waivers). Waivers may be needed due to unlawful presences in the U.S. due to overstaying a visa or previously entering the United States without inspection. Waivers are available for both immigrant and non-immigrant visa petitions.

MARRIAGE & FAMILY VISAS, and NATURALIZATION (CITIZENSHIP) PRACTICE

Additionally, Mr. Hurtado represents his clients in the U.S. before the USCIS in family petitions, adjustment of status to that of a legal permanent resident (green card petitions), as well as naturalization. Mr. Hurtado has a passion to encourage those eligible to apply for U.S. citizenship to do so as soon as they are eligible. There is no greater honor for the law firm to see a long time client finally take their oath of allegiance to the United States of America.

REMOVAL (DEPORTATION) DEFENSE PRACTICE

As previously stated, Mr. Hurtado served his community as an Assistant State Attorney (Prosecutor) for Florida’s 20th Judicial Circuit starting in June 2007. He succeeded in prosecutions in dozens of jury trials among thousands of prosecuted cases under his responsibility. He served Glades County as its sole prosecuting attorney where he tried every kind of case from traffic violations to capital crimes that call for sentences of life imprisonment. This experience as a state prosecutor provided Mr. Hurtado with the litigation experience and background necessary to address immigration consequences of criminal history. As an Immigration and Removal (Deportation) Defense attorney, Mr. Hurtado has helped his clients effectively defend their removal cases, even when they were facing deportation due to criminal convictions.

Mr. Hurtado is fluent in English and Spanish. This affords many of our Spanish speaking clients with an extra measure of personal attention.
