Adapting & Adopting: Operational Changes at the Hurtado Immigration Law Firm
Serving Our Clients. Protecting Our Community.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, state and federal governments have issued guidelines, business shutdowns, and stay-at-home orders to slow the spread of the virus. While these emergency orders have disrupted our economy and social lives, adhering to recommendations from public health officials and medical professionals is of the utmost importance.
At the Hurtado Immigration Law Firm, we deeply value the health of our community, but we want to continue providing exceptional legal services for our clients. That’s why we have adapted to the situation and adopted new protocol.
In the last few months, we partnered with Onward Technology Solutions to take our firm to the next level. We have rolled out videoconferencing software and several other types of technology to ensure we’re both serving and protecting our clients.

Available, Accessible, and Accommodating
Thanks to our newly implemented software, the Hurtado Immigration Law Firm is fully equipped to conduct video consultations with clients in Florida and nationwide. No matter where you are or what type of Immigration issue you have, we are available to assist you and your loved ones. We have set up this system to help as many people as possible.
Our goal is to complete most of the legal process over the phone, video conference, email, and fax. But we are also very aware that many of our clients do not have access to this technology, and they have no choice but to visit the office.
To remain available and accessible to every client, we have implemented the following measures to ensure everyone gets the service they need and deserve without risking their health.
Our In-Person Visit Procedures
When you come to our office, you will see signs on our front door with instructions and updates. You will also see a doorbell, but you won’t even need to press the button—our receptionist at the front desk will see you immediately. If the intercom doesn’t work or you experience other issues, you can call the front desk (the number will be printed on the sign) and someone will be there for you.
Our lobby is closed to the public, and we are only letting in one person at a time. Our desk staff will gather information from you and then unlock the door. In the lobby, you will see a video screen, where our staff will take more information from you and tell you which conference room to enter. In the conference room will be another video screen, which our paralegal will use to guide you through the signing process.
Before you have arrived, we will have prepared everything—all documentation (and single-use pens) will be laid out for you, ready to be signed. Because our paralegal will have already gone through this documentation with you, all you will need to do is sign. If you notice mistakes or other issues, you can let the paralegal know, and she can share her screen to confirm what must be changed.
Once you sign, our paralegal will transfer the video call to our front desk staff, who will take your payment and then lead you back to the lobby and out the door.

Let Us Help You Through This Crisis
We look forward to the day when we can work together in-person. But for now, maximizing social distancing practices is the best way to flatten the curve and save lives.
