Attorney Pablo Hurtado Featured in Res Gestae

We are proud to share the news that our very own Attorney Pablo Hurtado was published in the most recent issue of Res Gestae. Res Gestae is the award-winning, official publication of the Lee County Bar Association.

In the July 2021 issue, Mr. Hurtado recaps many of the recent immigration reforms enacted by President Joe Biden. He outlines how Biden has overturned many of the mandates set forth by the previous administration. Biden has strengthened DACA. Temporary Protected Status has been extended for refugees from Venezuela, Burma, and Syria. The President has proposed the U.S. Citizenship Act of 2021, which could help quicken a path to permanent residence for DREAMers, TPS holders, and undocumented workers. Biden’s administration has also repealed the “Muslim ban,” the Public Charge Rule, and the new citizenship test.

Attorney Hurtado reminds us that there is, however, more work to do. The previous administration capped refugees at only 15,000, a number that remains today.

Congratulations to our attorney, Mr. Pablo Hurtado, for his inclusion in this prestigious magazine. We hope to see much more of his writing in the future.
